A handicrafts route through one of Bilbao\u2019s most alternative neighbourhoods<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bilbao La Vieja is a neighbourhood with a personality all of its own and a growing number of handicraft shops offering specialisation, care, creativity and dedication in work that more often than not starts from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s visit a few of them today, in this new handicrafts route through Bilbao La Vieja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maiuki<\/mark><\/strong> (Aretxaga, 10)<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slow fashion for babies and women. Delicate knitwear, both timeless and modern.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maiuki<\/a> is Naia Mz\u2019s personal project. It all started while she was pregnant with her first child, knitting gender-neutral baby clothes with a timeless touch, inspired by classic knitwear but with a minimalist twist and a modern colour palette.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, she launched her first women`s wear and jewelry collection. Every piece is handmade to order, and each customer becomes a key part of the creative process. This is artisanal, slow and ethical fashion\u2014quality through and through, with carefully selected materials.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What if you could have a unique and personalized piece of jewelry? That’s the case for Maitena Ganboa, the designer of Ganboa Jewellery, who opens the doors of her workshop where she creates her original pieces inspired by elements of nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maitena, an artisan artist, creates her pieces with care and dedication in her own space. A cozy place where you can find small, unique sculptures, different and full of personality.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Think bonfire smoke honoring witches persecuted during the Inquisition, or the tropical fragrances of Leo season\u2014each creation speaks through all the senses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R-evoluciona, a leather workshop, is a space where Fernando Cabo and Ainhoa Fustel create (and teach how to create) leather garments and accessories that can add a touch of distinction to our wardrobe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s more than just a shop-workshop; it’s a space where you can share knowledge, feel at ease, and learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also sell handbags, belts, suitcases, and handcrafted leather items. Come discover it all!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Handmade pieces crafted with love, in a beautiful artisan concept store.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estudio 14<\/a> is the creative space of Janire and Karina. From the street, you can see them through the window, always working with their hands\u2014sewing, designing, creating.
Their shop is also a collaborative space: they welcome other makers to share and showcase their creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors stop by, ask for ideas or custom pieces\u2014and Janire and Karina always deliver. Everything is made with care, by hand, and from the heart.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
